About · The group
From research to real deployments
ROSS — Remote Observation, Sensing & System treats remote observation as one data analytics discipline: any sensor, any platform. Established in 2017 with wide-area ground monitoring from space, the group moves research from the lab to real deployments. Its first Alberta funding came from the Consortium for Aerospace Research and Innovation in Canada (CARIC). ROSS operates within the Multimedia Research Centre (MRC), directed by Professor Anup Basu and Professor Irene Cheng — see the full MRC team →
